Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen's Association
ATLANTIC COAST CHAPTER-
BIS, MSSA, & BEYOND and more…
Posted on May 4th, 2010 2 commentsAt the Berlin Intermediate School (in Berlin Maryland), Diana Jolley is bringing students into the world fishing. She is a member of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen’s Association (MSSA) and is its treasurer. As a teacher, she began a Learn to Fish project in the after school program this spring. So far this spring they have made fish print t-shirts, learned to cast, had bait demonstrations, and talked about the regulations. Coming up will be cleaning and cooking fish as well as knot tying. There are 11 boys and one girl in this, the first program of it type in a school nestled by the various bays and the ocean. If all goes well, there will be an outing (the location is yet to be announced) so that the youngsters can practice their after school project. She is looking forward to the fall and the fall fishing project!
Captain Monty Hawkins from the Morning Star took the students on a after school trip which was a HUGE sucess!
Note: Although there are pictures available, I am reluctant to place children’s pictures on the web.
Worcester Prep had a visit from MSSA – ACC chapter for an introduction to fishing. This is the next generation of fishermen and ladies.

Another FLOUNDER FRENZY? -in the fall! You have to hear this!
Coming up in November – Rock Fish Rumble – Get ready to ROCK!

This is one way we can thank them for their generosity in using their facilities. Hope to see you there!
Don’t forget to visit our friends and sponsors as they are added.
Special thanks to Sam Kilgore from Atlantic Anglers has been extremely helpful in setting up this website! Thanks Sam!
